Test your Italian
If you wish to sit a CILS exam or are considering enrolling onto our Italian courses, we strongly recommend you first assess your level by taking one of our tests.
How it works
All the tests take an estimated 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
After you have completed the test, you will see your results immediately.
If at any point you realize that the questions are too difficult or too easy, you can try the test for another level.
For candidates wishing to sit a CILS exam
It is important to note that the assessment test will give an approximate indication of your level and regardless of the results of your test you are not guaranteed to pass the examination.
Please also note that these tests will not assess the oral component which is nonetheless part of the examination.

Level Test – Beginner/Elementary Italian
This test is designed for students who are just starting to learn Italian or have a basic understanding of the language. Your score will help us determine the most suitable course level for you: A1.1, A1.2, or A2.1. Follow the instructions to find the course that’s right for you.
Level Test – Elementary Italian
This test is designed for students who have some foundational knowledge of Italian and are looking to build on their skills. Your score will help us determine the most suitable course level for you: A2.2, B1.1, or B1.2. Follow the instructions to find the course that’s right for you.
Level Test – Intermediate Italian
This test is designed for students who can communicate in everyday situations and want to further develop their Italian. Your score will help us determine the most suitable course level for you: B1.1, B1.2, or B2. Follow the instructions to find the course that’s right for you.

This test is designed for students who already have a solid command of Italian and want to refine their language skills. Your score will help us determine the most suitable course level for you: B2, C1.1 or C1.2. Follow the instructions to find the course that’s right for you.

After-school courses for children and teenagers
Since September 2018 we have been offering Italian Language and culture courses organised with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in London.
Our extracurricular Italian courses are aimed at all the children attending Primary and Secondary School years in London, Southern England and Wales, and run in more than 40 venues.
